Claire Taback Sliney is a director and producer focused on creating documentary and narrative films that tell deeply human stories with nuance and emotional truth.
Claire is a Co-Founder of The Pad Project — a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating and cultivating global partnerships to end both the stigma surrounding menstruation and the poverty caused by periods as a mechanism for improving social, health, and economic conditions for all. With The Pad Project, she developed the OSCAR-winning documentary short, Period. End of Sentence. dedicated to following the plight of women in Kathikhera, India, working to transform periods into a source of personal empowerment and economic advancement.
Claire was also awarded the joint Fulbright-National Geographic Storytelling Fellowship to Paris, France. Sponsored by the Fulbright Association and the National Geographic Society, the Fulbright-National Geographic Storytelling Fellowship is a vehicle for sharing the experiences and uplifting the voices of individuals, communities, and cultures around the globe. During this time, Claire Directed & Produced documentary short illustrating the struggles of a mother and son who fled Ukraine when the war began and are grappling with building a new life.
Claire holds a B.A. in Philosophy Politics & Economics (PPE) and Gender Sexuality & Women’s Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and received her MFA from USC at the Peter Stark Producing Program.
